Isn't Adam Clayton a Warwick endorsee?

Maybe Fender "stole" Mr. Clayton as a payback to Warwick because Mr. Steve Bailey left.

He plays Fender and Lakland live as well. Though I think it's a cheap shot trying to "copy" the Reverso.

the bigger the fish, the less exclusive the contract. he'll play the basses he likes, so look at him on stage - not on products printed his name on it.

BTW: I like P-basses too. (but not this one with all that sparkle ;) )
 
"hand selected alder".....nice marketing gimmick, Fender. If it's Alder, who gives a crap if it's hand selected or not, it's a very run of the mill, nothing special wood. Plus, with that finish you are better off not wasting your time hand selecting the wood, just use whatever scrap you have laying around, it works for EBMM ;-)
 
Not all endorsement deals are exclusive. They're contracts that can have lots of details.
I know alot of us arent Fender fans, but really, Pbass's arent THAT bad. For a very long time they were about as good as it got. & alder might not be as exotic as other woods, but anyone that knows ♣♣♣♣ from clay will tell you there's varying degrees of quality, regardless of species. Being common & cheap doesnt means it's bad. I reckon 99.9% of us couldnt pick an alder bass from a bubinga bass blindfolded.

Oh I bet you many could pick the difference, myself included.
 
All I know is I love the tone of my alder and maple RockBass. So balanced. :)
 
Not my cup of tea design wise...and yes, it looks...well, like an ordinary fender with a slightly flashy paintjob....like most signature mods. Funny enough the guitar sigs of fender have more character, like the John5 model for example .
 
U2 is saving the world, so can`t he just stick with an average Fender, instead of chopping down a handpicked alder to make his unique bass? ;)
 
I'm by no means a fan of Fender CS basses, but the Pino & Jaco basses I tried were really great. Far above the standard of any production model Fenders I've tried.
