This Bass was produced in 1986 or 1987 and it was a ltd. run for a German Music Shop called Roadstar in Pforzheim. This company was the first Mail Order Shop in the 80tees

The Bass was made with a Ash Body, satin Nirvana Black Lacquering, a Maple Neck with Wenge Fingerboard and passive Pickups, Passive Electronic and Black hardware..

30 pieces were made.

It is rather from 92 (see serial)

And yes, you're right, it's almost like an early corvette. differences are the passiv pickups/electronics and the black hardware. differences to the covette as it is produced nowadays are the wood of the neck (wenge in german, don't know the english term..), as you said, and ...

ITS GREAT plays great, sounds great. I am completly overwhelmed, because it is maybe not the most valuable instrument, but it is absolutly what i wanted to play. A very old school like vintage sound I'd say ...

the product id also says that its from 92, i guess (last two numbers)

even the warwick support said at first that it would be no warwick *lol* (grüße an matthias AUS der heimat, hehe)

Ok, jetzt weiter in Deutsch, sonst wirds mir zu schwierig ...
Kann mir jemand Tipps geben, wenn ich weiter an dem Teil "bauen" will? Ich weiß, ich sollte es lassen, aber ich würde gern die elektronik so verändern, dass sie sowohl aktiv als auch passiv läuft. Mit nem pushpull-poti zB. Muss ich dafür alles rausschmeißen und mir für 200 Eier neue Elektronik bestellen??
Außerdem ist auf dem Vulture ein Sattel, an dem ich wohl keine Höheneinstellung vornehmen kann ... Das müsste ich aber, um die Saitenhöhe wirklich optimal hinzukriegen. Der lag vorher scheinbar lange rum ... Naja, jedenfalls: Kann man den Sattel so ohne weiteres wechseln?!? Und wenn ja, was für einer sollte am besten wieder rauf?
Eigentlich bin ich der Meinung dass ich da sowas wie ein Gewinde sehe ...

The shaping is a little different from a current Corvette but not much. It´s certainly no Streamette, though I would have liked that. The neck is surprisingly chunky but I guess that´s also an ingredient to the Vulture´s sound. At under 300,- Euro and in better condition than the one on top of the page it was certainly a steal...
