Hey people, I just got my first warwick and I am digging it! I just got a used infinity SN 5 in a trade.

From what I know if I pull the bass/treble knob it activates the split coil mode. But how about if I pull the volume knob? Is it in passive mode? Can I alter the tone control?

Also, the previous owner modded the bass to neck volume/bridge volume instead of vol/blend . Do you think itd be hard to reverse it to its previous config?

Hi brandon,
If he modded the bass it is hard to say what controls you have... But it is easy to check, for example if it is eq bypass, the tone controls will not work anymore :)
Did he change the pot for the mod? Maybe it is possible without changing the pot, our blend pot is made of two stacked pots... Nothing is too difficult, you just need to have the right pits and know how to put them back. But if you have a working vol vol configuration, maybe it is a good idea to leave it as it is, it is not bad at all :)
Cheers,
Flo

thanks for the help Florin! The vol/vol is not bad at all. I just happen to prefer vol blend. Its good for volume swells

May I know what is the default function of the pull switch on the volume knob? Ill prolly switch it back to that

volume pull switch normally is for active/passive. Passive when pulled out. Some brands have a seperate tone control for passive mode, but Warwick hasn't. So it's either active with all controls or passive with only volume.

If you have active pickups, they're always active and always need some power.

It is eq bypass, and it was changed, the part no is M84500 -500k

Now that you mention it, it seems like it is an EQ bypass. How it works for me is, when the knob is pulled. The volume seems cranked, and fiddling with the eq knobs dont change the sound. However, if I turn the pulled knob, I can change the blend between bridge and neck pickup and if I turn it all the way counter clockwise then it cuts out the volume.

Personally it is not very helpful for me, does anyone have any ideas for mods which are more practical for live usage?

I personally like vol/vol, as you can cut a little of one pickup whle having the other one still 100%
