...And after so many years, I never thought I'd ever be in love with anything other than being me, and being a bass player.

I've known this gal for around 5 years, and never looked at her like I have just recently.

We've been talking, everyday, and I have to admit, I believe I have finally, truly fallen in love.

I have thought I had in the past, but it turned out to be less than what most would desire.

This girl even said she wouldn't mind if she came home after a horrible day, and I was playing bass.

Wow... I have done nothing but come into contact with women that despised my playing, even saw it as a threat to them, and yet, this one says she would never mind it, ever,

Wow, is all I can say.

Chalk it up to me being twenty, but wow. Just wow.

I mean, how many of us can really say our sig. other, or wives don't mind our bass 'fetish?' Id say, a very lucky few.

Don't mean to brag, or be ignorant, but I can't even sleep now.

congratulations man, you seem to be happy and she seems to be happy and that is all that is important, good luck, i hope it lasts forever
 
That's fantastic Tyler! If you find a good thing, hold on to it. They're often hard to come by.

Aint love grand,well done Tyler.
My ex is a real nutcase & has done some horrid things,but she always supported my bass playing & even encouraged me to buy more gear.Even the nastiest people have their good points.

I can happily say I'm one of those people - Sally plays keyboards, sings and even enjoys drumming. We've played in bands together, like the same music (mostly!) and we write together.

Glad to hear you've found someone that supports you - one of the most important things in a relationship is to support each other...makes life soooo much easier :D
 
Well my girl likes the fact that I play bass because it strengthened all my finger muscles. Dunno why.... :roll:
 
She probably appreciates your enhanced snapping abilities, duh.
 
Congrats man!

Every time I mention my bass to my lady (just finished restoring it so I mention it a lot) she says "yeah...you should go play it". No point in being with someone full time if they aren't going to encourage you to grow and follow your interests, just as you encourage them to do the same.

Luckily, as long as the amp does match the furniture, my woman doesn?t mind me playing home at all. And it does, it`s an Orange.
 
I just wanna thank everyone for their comments, I am very happy, and intend on taking real good care of this lil' lady.

We actually had a talk about it. (Kind of like in Fever Pitch when Jimmy Falon reveals he's a Red Sox fan, lol.)

She was amazed to know non of my ex's supported my bass playing, even shocked to find out that my first ex, kept me out of a band from Titusville/Sew Smyrna Beach Florida called Catalepsy, which is now signed to Jamie Josta's label. (I was original first pick.)

As far as the finger strength thing goes... Without 'going there' She acknowledged it and laughed, saying "We'll see if you practice as much as you do when you get home, tiger."

So, in summation, yay me, go me, whoo hoo, and thanks again for all the wanderful comments you guys, I just felt like I had to share with some body, and I figured why not the place where I spend the majority of my time on the internet?!

Where is Lesbia, by the way? I've come into contact with a few of their locals, but have come nothing short of failing on identifying the country on a map. =\

I haven't fallen for another one of those obvious ones, have I? Like when I told Erlend he'd spelled his name wrong?

I heard that recently,the residents of Lesbos wanted to either have the name of their island changed,or the dictionary changed coz they were sick & tired of being associated with homosexuality.
Just as well they dont live in Nantucket. :lol:

IS it just me, or does hearing 'Nantucket' bring anyone else back to watching the television show 'Wings?'
 
I'd like to visit Nantucket as "Moby Dick" is my fave all-time best novel. I'm the original Moby Dick-head!

(Wonder how Greg's profanity filter will handle that one!)
 
You guys crack me up. The nantuckett verse is one of my all time fav's :lol:

I think its time that tyler showed us a photo of himself, his lady & his bass. I love family shots!
