i'm seriously thinking about getting a new amp/cab setup, and guess what...i think i'm getting myself a Warwick rig :D

what do you guys think about an x-treme 10.1 + w411pro + wca 211pro setup?
would a tubepath 5.1 be better? and if so..which cabs should i get? (i'd really like to include a 2x10" for smaller gigs) :D

If you can afford the 10.1 go for it... more headroom is always a bonus. Bet it'll sound fantastic with the 411 and 211.

well actually i barely can right now, but i am really tired of carrying around the peavey rig, i need something more versatile :D

Hey Malk

First of all you have to decide if you want Tubepath or Xtreme, they sound pretty different. Both are excellent choices.
TUBEPATH has a warm, tubey sound, can sound vintage too,
Xtreme is tight and rough.
Despite the warm mellow sound, TUBEPATH cuts a little bit better through the mix, don't ask me why...

If you like modern sound - Tool, etc, that's the Xtreme.
If you want Motorhead sound, that's the Tubepath. :-)

Then... 1000 W is the best choice here, I'd say save some money and buy the big one if you'll use two cabs. There is not much price difference between the two of them anyway...

Thats what I am looking to do. Go all Warwick I want the Tubepath 10.1 I believe it will be more versatile with the expanded headroom and if need be you won't have to purchase another head when more power is needed!!

according to the prices on thomann.de, both setups (tubepath5.1+2x10+4x10 and xtreme10.1+2x10+4x10) should be around 1700 euros..so i'd go for the most powerful one 8) ...i guess that my local shop could make me save around 200 or 300 more euros (at least i hope so)

anybody knows the value of my usa-made peavey firebass 700w and 412 tvx?
 
now this sucks. a lot.

the price quote i just got from my local shop is around 2700 euros for an x-treme 10.1 + 2x10 + 4x10...just 1000 euros more than thomann.de :shock:

how on earth is that possible?

giving back my peavey rig the price would go down to 2000 euros :roll:

i already bought stuff from thomann.de (some MEINL cymbals for my drummer) and i just sent them an email asking for the shipping cost of the new rig...can someone explain why would there be such a price difference? :shock: :shock:
 
heh because i didnt want to tell them i'm going to buy somewhere else :D
 
i don't think that the shipping would cost 1000,- from germany to italy. and since there should be no fees within the EU you should only pay for the shipping. thomann.de says that the shipping costs about 20,- for stuff that is not too heavy (about 30 kg or more) or too large, which could be the case with the cabs. but they can tell you the exact cost for your shipping! hope you have received an answer yet?

for 1000 bucks you could take a cab over to bavaria and back :wink:
 
that's exactly what thought...with 1000€ i can pay for my trip to the warwick open day :D i'm waiting for the mail from thomann with the shipping costs :wink: i'll let you guys know asap

also, even though the tubepath is a "tube amp" i would still seriously consider the x-treme...its brilliant

I'd like to hear more reviews around those before I pay the price. All reviews I read or heard so far was from Warwick or Jonas himself.

yeah... i use the FET channel on my Pro Tube quite a lot,its very punchy

exactly..i would take only the 211 with me for smaller gigs, and show off the full rig when the place is bigger :D
 
ok guys it's official, i just ordered an x-treme 10.1, a 211 and a 411 :D should be here in a week 8) i'm a happy boy (hubba-hubba :lol:)

..any chance to get some free stuff for the brand devotion? :D :D

oh it's actually also a good feeling to sell stuff on ebay and make up your mind how you could reinvest the money 8)
