Similair question......
My band tunes down 2 whole steps to C. However, I use a 5 string FNA Jazzman, so I end up tuning my B to a very loose G which doesnt get picked up very well cause of the smaller guages of my strings. Would it be possible if I could re-string my bass F# (0.175) B E A D and just tune up a half step? Would that be safe for the neck? And would it help my problem with the sound quality of my very loose string...
