not only because we all love the warwicks, but because we are all from different countries, with completely different viewpoints on life and all that goes with it. No political shit that we (in america) hear about so often.

I love the fact that I can converse with people in Tasmania, or Norway, or Spain, etc.

I also love that there are posts is German and Swedish (i think) that I can't read.

This is such a great place with such a vast and eclectic knowledge base (bass).

big +1 from tasmania, this forum means alot to me, the amount of time i have spent on this forum is alot. and its weird because you feel like you know people, even tho you have never met them in person, its cool. and my passion is bass, and having no one that i talk to in person about bass, then being about to come on here and talk about bass playing and the best bass'es in the world is just great. thanks peep.

Funny, I was thinking exactly the same thing yesterday while I was in the church parking lot! Strange how world governments can't communicate without going to war, yet we can come on here with vastly different backgrounds, political and religious views, geographic locations, etc., yet not even get into a fight; in fact we will find common ground and even support and help each other here. What an awesome place to be! :D It also boosts my cultural education...

Just a reminder about the Warwick Family Poster: The deadline is the 7th, so join in now by emailing a full resolution pic (the bigger, the better) of you with your 'Wick, playing or not, lit from your right side, and get your whole self and bass in the pic, on as plain a background as possible...

The thing I love most here in the forum is the harmony that exists, all members respect each other opinions and points of view. There's no sily discussions to see who's got reason or not and no depreciative comments about each one tastes, like I'm used to find in other foruns(that's the reason why I only post in the Warwick forum and only read what people say in the other foruns).
Here we got all kind of musical tastes, from funk to jazz, from metal to gospel. Got people from all around the world, that is amazing since we can learn alot more from each other.
We got from young bass players to those who got years of playing and just like I said in the begining of my reply, the respect between members is amazing , and even when you've got some question or some doubt, even if you thought it's probably something stupid to ask, here there's always someone that gladly will clarify and explain that to you.

Like Robin said, we're a big and cool family and I feel proud to have the chance of making part of it.

i just had to post in this thread because yes, i do agree that this forum is great and i feel that it really cares about us as individuals...

one of my dreams is to actually have warwick recognize me as a bass player ... and in a way, the forum group picture is sort of a fantasy come true ... i mean, Hans P. Wilfer is really gonna make it into a REAL PROMO POSTER ... it basically means he cares about all of us despite not hearing us play nor talked to us personally; the very fact that we love warwick, join this forum and contribute ideas are all enough reasons for him to acknowledge us!

forgive the excitement - its just because i really dont see Fender doing something like this to us (ok, me specifically) ... or insert company X, where they'd probably say "oh, he isnt that famous/good ... no use having this guy in a promo poster."

tsk, i just love Warwick man... if ever im gonna get anywhere playing music, i want to have a warwick by my side ... for inspiring me and making silly fantasies come true :)
 
I have a pretty negative view on life. I'm also spending a lot of time here. You do the math. Thanks all. :wink:
 
This truly is a great forum with great people of very diverse backgrounds. There is a very cool vibe around here that is about mutual respect, support and happiness for others. The world needs more of this. I'm just glad to be here with you all. :)
 
++1 from me! Even though I`m still fairly new to the forum, it is THE best! I like the fact that everyone has a voice and people are willing to listen. Feels great to be a part of it :!:
(Still waiting for my first Warwick so will miss the deadline for pix , boo hoo :cry: )

No stuck up gear savants here! :lol: Just a bunch of guys (and a few girls, too few IMHO) who love the bass guitar and love to share their knowledge with those who care to learn and teach a thing or two.

Hey naetog, where in SB are you from? I went to school at Brooks Institute of Photography about 3 years ago before I moved to New England. Another thing I like about this forum, even though I move 3600 miles away, I can still 'encounter' people from the places I have lived! :D Its like being home again! :roll: :lol:
 
I loved this forum from the day one, I had some questions, and everybody was really helpful. I personally want to thank to Oliver, because in the beginning he was alone moderator on this forum, and you should know this is not an easy job ...

No surprises there. Just compare the average basic personality of a bass player to that of a lead guitar player and it is pretty easy to see why a lot of bass players are as you described. :wink:
