So I'm working on yet another new mod...

I've finally got around to making (still working on it) a thumb rest to fit between my pickups. I still have a bit more work to do on it, shaping it, etc. But here are some pics of the progress so far.

I have to go out today to get some epoxy to wipe in the inside of it to strengthen the wood a bit. Due to do arched top of the Thumb I had to hollow out the wood to fit level on the body without moving all around. I originally was going to steam the wood and bend it to the shape of the body and clamp it so it dryed at that angle... But I need the top to be flat and even with the pickups! So this way should work out pretty well.

So I still have a bit more work to do...

looking good :D

how are you gonna make it stay into place?

I have a Thumb NT 6 and I want a ramp. If you made one that was either black like our pickups or orange/brown/red like the Thumb NT I would totally buy it from you.

I'm not sure yet :P

As I was making this thread, I think I'm going to expirement a little with the epoxy so the thumb rest wont be hollow, It will be epoxy filled... But the epoxy will be at the arch of the bass. Then I will problaby just use a double sided tape or something of that sort.

yeah double sided tape should be the less invasive way to mount it

You wont believe how many people on here have asked for me to make them something! :P

I've really been thinking about it... I've had a few people ask for a ramp and a couple have also asked for some truss rod covers. Maybe I'll go into business and start making parts... and even basses :P

Thumbin, you did do excellent work on your defretting, for example, I think you should seriously consider going in to the business =)

I'm redoing the fretless a little bit as well... I've been applying black epoxy over it, then sanding it down till it's a bit flat. It really looks like an ebony fretboard on there now :D

Open a workshop and do it for a living.

Ask Warwick for one of each model so you can style the ramps accordingly

And to think I'm doing all this by hand, No power tools used. And that wenge is some hard some to use the chizel on!

It would be a dream come true if Warwick would send me each model :P

Ha ha nice one =D

I put a zebrano ramp on my streamer actually:

Bad picture but it gives you an idea

man you should definitely go into the luither business, you have a great skill..and eye for mods :D

As i've said time and time before very nice work :D

Yeah, I've really been thinking about it.

The problem is though, I can't read measurements for the life of me. Now if Warwick *wink wink* (like mentioned in a previous post) would send me every model. I could definantly pull it off :
