:( I just broke my nut

So I was grabbing a case, and another case tipped over, and knocked over my guitar stand, and my $$ faceplanted onto the concrete floor. just-a-nut is broke, and minor cosmetic fretboard damage next to nut. Frets are fine. Cry. Last time I ordered a part from Warwick it took 5 weeks to receive :(


Can I replace the JAN 2 with a brass JAN without mods?

I just ordered a JAN 3 from Warwick NY. $30 even, I was going to get the brass JAN3....but its $130.... ouch....

Wow your jan3 broke? I know for sure the NY custom shop has the regular and brass ones in stock. They took 3 business days to ship mine!

I was totally waiting for something like this, if you hadn't said it maybe I would have :d:d

I would go for Brass. I think it looks fancy and for keeping the value of your instrument, it's a good choice I think. If something like this happens again the nut would break the floor and not the other way :d

Looks like a JAN2 to me. I'll second this, custom shop was great when I ordered the brass nut for the FNA.

You should be able to swap in the new nut without much trouble.
 
Until then I guess it is possible to place something below the nut, and keep it in place, so the bass can be playable.
 
I ordered a JAN3 from Warwick New York Wednesday and it already arrived Friday, slapped some wood glue on the neck, sat it on there, tightened the strings down to hold it firmly in place, and wiped off excess glue. Plays like a charm.
 
Woohoo!!

I've had the experience, last year my JANII broke tabs, so for awhile I just had the strings hold it there. JANIII is on finally this summer. It's nice and happy again.
