First... I have to post this... This was required after what happened, happened... Someone I know recommended it...

Granted, it's only a €99 Bass, but still, it's a start....

I have to say I have had quite some fun "noodling" around on it (scales etc). Looking forward to learning how to play it properly and then maybe, one day, pick up a Warwick...

Thanks!!! It is indeed a nice bass to start one. The neck is extremely comfortable, I just wish I could have held one of the Warwicks (but they are all high-up on the wall at Thomann, out of reach).

Now, I'll likely be bothering you lot with a ton of questions, like what is a good source of lessons on Youtube and the lot...
 
Lot's of good bass lessons on Youtube, Rocksmith 2014 might be a good thing to check out if playing along is more your fancy.

I sort of need the basics.. I have so far learned that the "standard" tuning for a 4 string is EADG, so that is done. And I am sure I can figure out the notes on the neck based on the string tuning, but other than that I am a total newbie (almost). No idea if it is best to pick with finger or a pick, and what purpose the thumb has, where to place my hand, proper fretting technique, all of that...

Can anyone recommend a good Youtube channel for starting to play Bass ? Sort of like Justin Guitar is for guitar ? (ie: mostly free....)

I have done some searches on Youtube, but there are so many different channels that seem to want to start from different approaches, I am not sure which one to go with.
