How to set my metronome

I bought a metronome today to help me in practicing. I feel that I'm out of rhythm some times and with just past a week before I'm having a musical highschool entry test (Recieved the letter yesterday) where I'm going to play two songs. Bombtrack by Rage Agaisnt the Machine and Rio Funk by Lou Ritenour.
But how should I set my metronome for those songs? I try, but it's not that easy (yet)
I'd appreciate any help!

And does anyone have the soundfile for rio funk? I can't find it online, not in legal or illegal download sides

Have you checked out any el cheapo drum machines?
