How to I open the pickups on a 2000 Warwick Corvette 6 string?

I am trying to open up the pickups on my 2000 Warwick Corvette standard 6 string so I can make them switchable between north, parallel, and south coils (I love the sound of a single coil Warwick). Needless to say I need to be able to access the individual coil rows. I removed them from my bass and looking at them can not for the life of me figure out how to get them open so I can start this little project. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

Be careful, most likely they are split coils, similar to P pickups. Use a screwdriver to check where the magnets are placed, and you will see if you have two full coils or two halves.

If they are split coils rather than two-coil humbuckers wont that mean that splitting the coils will not give you a single coil, but a half coil-leaving you with only a couple strings output?

Indeed, they're split coil, three wire pickups (one is battery). In the event you were able to isolate your coils, you'd be switching between the BEA strings and the DGC strings

Personally, I much prefer the sound of split coil pickups to stacks. In my opinion, stacks are no longer fashionable. Only MEC, Fender, EMG and Duncan make them exclusively... yes they're huge companies, but all the 'boutique' guys don't. Bartolini don't make stacks anymore - linear split-coil is what people do now.

However, stacks don't care about string spacing, and that's very important.
