Randy, I know what you mean by keeping the ears open, and stumble uppon a different sound that is even better than what you started out to search for.
This SSI sound is not what I am naturally drawn towards; rather, my intend in this is to have more than just one sound, and find out how to achieve different sound with my instruments. Putting more tools into the toolbox, so to speak.
SSII with everything flat, with well played strings, into a clean amp, with just a little bit of mid scoop is MY kinda of sound. But as musician, one need have an open mind and ear, and learn to adapt and diversify, and hence this thread.
