hey everybody!

Im new to all this so bare with me if you will.

how much would anyone advise i spend on a custom warwick? lik i play a bit of everything, but am in a punk band at the moment, so i also dont really know what would be the best body woods etc so can anyone help?

personally, I dont like Warwicks for punk. If you really want a Warwick for punk, get a bleached blonde thumb IMHO. If not that then get a corvette. I much prefer my Stingray for punk music and my tingrays for everything else, but the Bleached Blonde gives that nice bright tone that punk works well with, and the Corvette is a great all around bass sonically.
 
Hey Barry,I think JC plays EBMM basses.What model did you have in mind?
 
i was thinkin about a streamer as ive played a streamer stage one 5 strig and thought it was amazing to be honest.
 
Justin Chancellor plays custom Wal basses.

Though, he used to play EBMM.
 
Barry,i agree,the Streamer stage 1 is a nice bass but I gotta remind you it's a broad neck bass in 5 & 6 string.Good luck.
 
how about a maple bodied $$ corvette, that should sound quite punky and probably very tool like.

Nothing. You don't know what exactly you're after, so why go custom? You're sure to get less for your money this way - going custom should only be an option if you want something specific and you can't find it in a production model. So, if you played an SSI and thought it was amazing, that's the way to go for you. No need for experiments.
 
Personally I wouldnt buy the first bass you try,even if it is a Warwick.Try to get your hands on as many different models as you can & then decide.You might find there's an even better model for you than the Streamer,but there's only one way to find out.

Try as many as you can... it could be the most unlikely one that does it for you! Then at least you'll get an idea of the body wood and electronics that you like!

I tried almost 20 basses before buying my first quality bass (and some more during the beginner years), at that time I thought it was a lot, now I know it was barely enough.

If you have the chance of trying basses don't be afraid, it will be the best investment you can do on your quest for the ultimate tone and playability.

I also don't recommend a custom shop if you don't know exactly what you want.

Even when you think you know that you sometimes end with the wrong instrument. So I can't insist enough, try all those beautiful basses as many as you can ;)

You say you don't even know much about which woods you'd choose, how can you spend such a great amount of money on a custom shop instrument?
 
it was just i kinda wanted a unique bass ya know.

i'll try as many as i can but i think since that fateful day i played that streamer, i'll come back to warwick! :) Thanks again!!!
