How Green is Warwicks China and Korea Factorys?

When Warwick says how Green they are which i totally dig by the way, Does this include the China/Korea factorys? or is it just the German plant?

It would surprise me if there is a Warwick owned production in Asia.

Normally the stuff is produced under a contract with a company that produces for more than one customer.

Interesting question there! Does warwicks carbon neutrality as recently claimed include the production of their asian instruments and amplifiers? Particulalrly as its likely that most of the volume produced will be coming out of asia, are the same or similar standards required from the companies doing OEM work for warwick in asia?

Which concerns me that the other factories will offset all the good stuff they do in Germany. Dont get me wrong im glad Warwick are proactive with this but if they are just doing it in Germany and shipping all the pollution to China like everybody else does thats not sweet. We do a simaler thing here in NZ where we are known as clean and green country but we send all our recycling to China and India who use toxic chemicals to break it down and then they flush all the crap into the ocean. Its the attatude of if i cant see it it does not matter. We all live on the same planet so it will effect everyone at some stage. Im keen for the official word on this.

Warwick are running way up front in trying to make a difference and that alone does make the difference. I am almost certain the W people are doing their utmost to run the operation as carbon neutral as possible within what's possible at this point in time. We all know the German factory is, and we all know that asian factories are working on it.

Yes but i am not riding my bike to work every day and claiming to be super green and then after work racing a top fuel drag car either.

As i said i totally respect Warwick for what they are trying to do but with all the publicity they are pushing around it and most of their new product coming from China i had to ask the question.

This is indeed a great question!!!
We are climate neutral, or carbon neutral company, and of course as a whole - Germany, China and Korea together.
How this works:
1- We measure the CO2 Emissions
2- We do our best to lower it. You already know what we are doing in Germany. In China our factories are placed in south, so it is about 15 degrees warmer there, so the factories don't really use heating. So we are doing our best, even if, of course, the conditions in China are not ideal...
3- We support international environmental project. By doing so, we have the opportunity to become a part of a large variety of projects ranging from the construction of wind energy plants up to water treatment and afforestation projects. Currently, we are supporting an afforestation project within Gorongosa National Park located in the Sofala province in East Mozambique.

So yes, Warwick is a green company as a whole.

I think on the whole outsourced production in china is never going to be as "green", or be guaranteed to provide a living wage/social security for workers as within the EU unless the factories are run under the same qualities... but I think that warwick are starting to make this a selling point, even just starting in Germany to begin with, is nothing but a good thing.

Also don't forget (and I'm guessing how it can work here) that even in a normal chinese factory Warwick would be able to demand certain standards as to the sustainability of the wood used - which I think is even more important that carbon neutrality.

So thumbs up to warwick from me.
 
Hey Luke, Our goal is to use FSC wood only in a couple of years...
