How does it sound?

Check out some of Andy Irvine's videos. One of his CS SS1's is all maple including the fretboard.. SS1s are by default all maple (except the fretboard) as they come standard, so there isn't going to be a huge difference between the bass you have pictured and a standard SS1.

Keep in mind that his has EMG pickups as opposed to MEC.

Well we all [collectively anywho] have a pretty good
idea of what the various MEC tone chains sound like,
so this is all about the difference in the wood. I can
say for certain that maple+maple+maple will be extra
brite .... make that double extra brite!

You could put flatwounds on it ... almost never hafta
change your strings ... and you'd still have a hotter
than average tone :-)

I love my bolt on Streamer for that, it's maple body/neck and wenge board. I rarely, if ever, have to change strings. Right now I am using DR black beauties for looks, they are dead dead dead, still the tone is pretty darn good and usable. :-D
