One question to Florin or Ollie.


I noticed a while ago that the new CS basses were having a number ( # XXX ) and now every bass on the gallery has one !


What do they mean ? How do they apply ? Mine is #121 for example... Why ?
 
I have asked, and waiting the official answer, but it seems to me to be very simple. They are numbered from #001 , to #176.

Also, this is not the bass serial number, it is more the number in the gallery. The basses have the "classic" serial number on them
 
So the numbers are only for the basses in the Gallery, right ? The previous CS basses not shown in the Gallery are not numbered.... Right ?


It's a kind of "useless" counting, finally ?
 
At least it makes communicating for us easier: Like check out CS bass number 161 !! :D
 
These numbers were put on so customers could easily enquire about a bass without having to go into fine detail.
 
We are numbering all the Custom Shop basses now so that new customers can use them as reference for their own instrument.
 

For every custom shop bass showed in the gallery, we have 3 numbers.

Serial number type A-121190-06

ID code type 0275080001B2BPOOWW
It contains most of the features and characteristics, and it’s used as a reference number for sales

Gallery number (type #176)
This is only used for the gallery…
In the past, we used to add in the gallery every Custom Shop instrument made, but now we selected them a bit… Because it’s not worth to have twice or more time the same bass…
 
There is something about the ID Code, if you send that number exactly to your distributor or dealer you will get a bass that looks just like the one you see on the photo on the website. This code describes the characteristics of the bass. First three number identify the model, and so on, including type of wood for the body, neck, fretboard, electronics, pickups, inlays, hardware and machine heads.... it's all included there, except for specific options, like for example if you order LEDs, this number doesn't include the color of the LEDs or if you order a Name Plate, this number doesn't include the name that will be in the name plate.
