i played all the warwicks i could get my hands on i have played a nt ash but in a crap amp i have played a thumb bo and nt and i didnt like it i played streamers corvette std fortress and the only one i likes was the corvette ash nt i didnt play the other nt corvette but it has the same wood in the forters i think and i didint like it
i was just wondering if it had that growl im not going to hate myself if it dosent
 
Well buddy, if that's the one you like, then buy it :-) All the Warwicks have Da Growl

Respectfully, what is your native language? No one is trying to make fun of you, as we are all trying our best to understand you and help you in whatever way that we can. But I must admit that I get dizzy trying to read some of your posts. If you try a bit harder to work on improving your writing skills then you will most likely get more responses to your queries. What's confusing is that you have 4 or 5 threads going on this same topic. I/we want to be helpful, but asking the same question in different ways isn't likely to change the answers you'll get.

It sounds like you're second-guessing your decision to go with a Corvette $$ NT Ash, and I don't think you should be. You've tried it and have compared it to other models - and it was the bass you liked best. Every Warwick bass will have some type of growl. And everyone has a different opinion on what growl is (including me). Sure, a maple neck will sound smoother than an ovangkol neck, but those humbuckers have plenty of snarl and bite regardless of that. How you play, the strings you use, etc. will also have a big impact on growl.

If I was you I'd be counting the days until my dream bass showed up at my door, not stressing about what 'percentage' of growl it has compared to other Warwicks... :D
 
And by the way, when I said that the NT ash wouldn't have much growl compared to the BO ash (in another thread), I meant that as a good thing. Dual humbuckers on an ash body with an ovangkol neck has a pretty dark tone (some like it and some don't). A maple neck provides better clarity and presence without sacrificing low end or punch. And that likely explains why 3 of the 4 production $$ models use maple instead of ovangkol.

Yeah, and if you would use proper spelling, grammar and punctuation, it would be much easier to understand what you are trying to say.

To get back on the subject, ash and maple is a classic combination in basses, and Spector basses (that often use only maple) have loads of growl.

And don't forget that most basses can growl with the right technique and strings, but perhaps not the Warwick growl. Try adapting your plucking hand to get the results you want.

It's a question of definition. Perhaps you could post a clip from YouTube to give us an idea of what sound you are looking for?
 
I agree with expressing yourself more clearly & asking the question once.It's getting to the stage when I see one of your threads Wazza,I avoid answering it,coz it's too much of a hassle to get my head around what it is you're actually asking.I've know you can do alot better,I've seen it.Maybe a little more effort would'nt go astray.

sorry Wazza, but it looks like you just need to suffer from waiting for your bada$$ Corvette NT Ash. :twisted: It's like getting married: you keep wondering whether you're making the right choice or not..............Hey you actually played the bass, and it was THE best bass right ?? That bass has the X-factor that other basses don't have. Who cares about how "growl" is defined and experienced by others. :wink:
