i have a chance to acquire a thumb BO 6
i realize the BO usually comes equipped from the factory with the two band EQ; this one has the NT three band EQ.
is it possible that someone ordered it this way? it appears to look clean and unmodified in the cavity section etc.
ty for your help.
regards joey

Hi buddy, welcome to the forum!

Early thumbs had the two band, nowadays they come with the three band pre so no worries.

Welcome joebar! I love both my Thumb basses. Enjoy the forum sir.

Thumb BO's still come with the 2 band. NT's come with the 3 band.

Hi Joebar, I like the commics and I might have a NT preamp for sale...;)

i dont need a preamp.
i just wanted to know if a thumb BO could come from the factory WITH an NT three band preamp.

I noticed I was wrong. Thanks for correcting mistake Jeff.
Still, any thumb could come with the 3 band. Maybe it is not a stock model but a special order.

okay i bought the thumb
really nice bass; just needed some routine TLC
gotta get some proper strings on her though...
the jury is still out on whether i like my corvette 6er more than the thumb 6er but we will see
they are different body woods and different elecronics
the control cavity appears to be clean and unmodified; i am leaning to believe that this bass left the factory with the three band EQ
all i know is that i cannot keep both; one will be sold.

thx to all the help guys and gals!

You made good choice. Enjoy Thumb BO. I am interested which bass will be keeper, please inform us when you decide.

Joebar, you could try to keep both :-) It would be a shame to have regrets down the line :-))

Welcome aboard, enjoy your Thumb, and don´t forget the RULES: You must post pics of your bass. ;)

Welcome to the forum Joebar :-)

Well, I was expecting this to happen, the thumb BO is so... different!
Anyway replacing the electronics is a very clean job, so, while it is possible to leave the factory with 3 band EQ (cs order), it is more likely that it was changed after.
It doesn't really matter...
