Hello.

Thought I should introduce myself, I joined a while back but never really posted. I've decided to remedy that having been in touch with IncX via Basschat over his recent 'purchasing issues'.

Bass guitar was my first instrument I've been playing for about 16 years on and off and not always very well but I'm good at what I do which is writing my own stuff instead of playing covers.

I've had my German built Streamer Std II for over 8 years and it is easily the most playable bass I've ever tried and I love the looks of it too. I am currently trying to find out how I can change the tone of it though as it no longer fits with how I want to sound.

My other bass is a Squier VM 70s Jazz with Wizard 64 pups, BadAss II, chrome neck pup cover and a custom made rosewood thumb-rest. This bass is how I now want my Streamer to sound!

I'm not in a band at the moment so my amp is an Ashdown Electric Blue 120. I also use a Boss Bass Synth Pedal, Boss chorus, Boss octave and a SansAmp BDDI all hooked up to a Warwick/Rock Bag pedal board. I also have an M-Audio Black Box FX Unit/USB interface and floorboard for recording into my laptop.

Nice to have you here Doc :-)

Enjoy your both basses, and don't ask a Warwick to sound like a Fender or vice versa.
 
hey doc! glad to see you here man!

wish i could help, but im only good with vampyres, and i love their default sound.

i hope eber can chime in, since he has a lot of experience with combo amps, and you might need an amp change more than a bass change :)

I had a few Ashdown amps - including the EB 12-180 12" 180w combo...I think I had two (or three) of those.

Pretty neat little combo, although they do have a signature sound which is hard to dial out.

If you want a wider range of sounds from your basses I agree with Reuel's suggestion that it might be worth looking at amps, although I also agree with Florin - don't try to make a Fender out of a Warwick or a Warwick out of a Fender. Enjoy each of them for what they are.
