Hope you all could help or point me in the right direction. I am not a bass player by trade (guitar player booo!!) but the last year i have taken to the bass seriously and landed a solid gig in a decent paying band. So now wanting to expand my knowledge of the instrument I picked up a used Warwick Rock Bass 5 string Fretless thats in great shape. Of course I go straight to the Jaco albums and well ..... lets just say that'll be a long way off. The real reason for my post is that as I am trying to research the bass I can't narrow down exactly what it is or from what year. I see some that are corvette and some fortress? Any info on those 2 models would be very much appreciated. I must say am pretty happy with it so far.

Thanks!!

Hey dude,welcome.
Ya chose a pretty good instrument for your first.I wish I could've started out on a Rockbass.Hit this link & have a look at all the Rockbass models & get back to us as to which one you bought & we can tell you more about it.In the meantime, flip it over & look for the serial number on the back of the headstock, between the tuners. There will be a serial number stamped into the wood. The RB=Rockbass, the next letter indicates the month it was built.A=january,B=february & so on,but I isnt used. The last 2 digits indicate the year.So 01=2001,02=2002 etc.

Cheers mate.

Greetings Birdland and welcome to the forum. Greg already explained the serial number and gave you a link to look at other RockBasses, so the only thing left to add is, post a pic of it. I have a 5-string RB Streamer LX and I love it. Very good instrument for starting out and hell, Ive been playing over 30 years and I think its a good, solid, dependable instrument for any skill level.

Again, Welcome to the forum and good luck with your RockBass.

Hi Guys,
Thanks for the replies and the info. I checked the serial number and It was made in Jan 2003. I'd love to get the spec's on it and find out exactly what I have. I am really having a good time with this bass. I snapped a pic of it, let me know if it's clear enough.
Thanks again!!

lol i thought you had a random 6th tuning peg on the headstock, but i think it must be from the bass behind yeah?

lol i didnt see that either but yeah its a washburn bass in the back.

oh yeah, forgot to mention its a fine looking bass, too! Every time i see a fretless i want one a little bit more. I'll add it to the bottom of the GAS list, just below the Dolphin SN
