I am "returning" to Warwick. I joined the forum over a year ago. However, I do not recall my username I had on here before as much has happened. I wasn't a member for more than a few months, and then was in a car accident. I was in a pretty bad way, and in rehab for a head and spinal injury for 11 months. Speach therapy was thrown in there for 3 or 4 months. I really don't recall much of the past 5 or 6 years of my life. Not sure I that is a bad thing or not :). Anyway, I am back. My wife has explained to me that I owned a Corvette 4 string fretless, but that and many of my guns and other things were sold to help with medical bills.

So, one of my first priorities was to buy another Corvette. I was pretty lucky to find a really nice 1995 Corvette Pro-Line recently. I will have some pics soon. I know that it's bad to declare a new purchase without pics. :arrow:But I'll have them up soon.

That's quite a story Paul. Welcome back. All the best for your recovery, I am sure music and the bass will help with it.

Thanks Jester! I am so thankful for the ability to breathe. Might sound a bit corny, but I hear I came pretty close to the pearly gates. I have 3 boys. Ages 9, 7, and my youngest had his 6th B-day on the yesterday. If there one thing that brings a tear to my eyes, it's that I lost the memories of my boys' baby/toddler years. But I am going to spoil the hell out of them from now on!! I can play my basses! That's huge. I have a new zest for learning to play the bass. I am going to start playing more jazz. I have been more of a metal head (still am), but I really need to find a new beat. Not sure how else to put it. Anyway, I thank you for the kind words! Paul

Welcome back Paul, it is good to recover after this accident... Are you 100% recovered? I hope your memory will come back to you, but anyway, you have your kids around you, and you are about to build your future memories as you want :-)

Wow, thanks guys! I told my wife yesterday in idle chat about my memory issues, and being back on the computer and visiting various sites is really bringing some things back. One inparticular is remembering that this Forum is far and away the most cordial and helpful forum I have been on. Man, I thank all of you for your warm welome back! It flat out made me smile to read these posts. I sent you a few email addresses Florin, I hope you are able to retrieve my old stuff. Might be good for my memory.

My main problem in terms of slappin da bass is my hand/eye communication. I am also relearning the fretboard and corresponding notes to each fret. Going well, but a buddy of mine from a previous band I was in is helping me out with things. My present study is music theory. I have had to go back to square one with a lot of reading music. My buddy is advising just learning the fretboard, and using tablature to learn songs as they are so popular and now common. I really don't forsee me in a studio or professional musician, so maybe the tabs should be fine. Either way, I am back to playing. I am pushing myself with short-term goals with my skill level. I love playing the bass, and feel privileged to be doing so!

welcome back, hope your health and playing continue to recover man. I had a friend who had an aquired brain injury and her memory would come back in weird little bits an peices. Just let the new memories you make be as happy as they can be, and let the past ones trickle back to you as they will.

Thank you, Mr. Bailey. Sorry, but I feel I must call you Mr. Bailey. Mainly because of my respect for your talent. I am currently living in Delaware. Moved out here from Michigan for my Wife's career. Thanks for taking the time to reply. I am honored!

JSmith, thank you for the thoughts! Good to hear from a fellow Michigander. I grew up in Ludington, Spent most of my adult life in G.R., and was living in Grand Haven for the last 10 years before moving to Delaware 6 mos. ago. Thanks, man.
