Help with truss rod rotation

Hello everybody,
I have Warwick Thumb 1999. I want to adjust the the truss rod but I can't figure out which way you loosen and tighten the truss rod. Please help !!!
 
Turn left (anticlockwise) to loosen the Truss Rod, and add some bow to da neck.

Turn right (clockwise) to tighten the Truss Rod, and add some back-bow, to flatten da neck.

hey dont mean to hitch a ride of this topic...but im kinda in a pickle aswell.

i have had my warwick thumb since 2007, its the limited edition flaming blonde from that year. lovely bass.....but i have had problems getting the straight neck. i have tightened the trust rod now and again over the 4 years ish that ive had the bass, and always run into the same problem.

i loosen the strings, check the neck again....still something of a bow so i tighten the rod......til the point that the neck is nice and staight. tune the strings to standard tuning, and low and behold, there is always a bit that isnt straight. if you look up the neck from the wonderfully crafted backside of the bass, the neck is nice and straight all up until about fret 5 or 6.....then there is a slight relief. now i dont know how to get rid of this slight relief...ive been trying for a few years now, and its getting to the point where i cannoy tighten my rod anymore. its really quite a strength task now and im scared that im gonna break it :(

any tips that you could throw a man who can straighten it out? :P

almost there actually

the last time i tightened the rod and noticed the work it took was last night. that little adjustment i made did some good. the neck isnt far off bang on straight i think now.

the thing is...im still getting buzzing, at least i think its buzzing. im not sure. i raised the action of the bridge........but on the A and D strings, if you play a fretted note above....i think its fret 5, when it rings, it kinda distorts. this is playing acoustically btw. no amp involved. i thought it was fret buzz, but i might be wrong. could it be the nut?

The neck actually must have a slight release. Do make it too straight, or you will have fret buzz on low positions :-)
