Help with Set Up.

Changed strings on my newly acquired Streamer LX4 today and as they were a different guage ferom the originals decidsed to set up. Now I have done this plenty times on my Fenders with no problems but have encountered difficulties today with the Warwick. I followed the tutorials as closely as I could. Everything was going fine until the bridge adjustment. The tutorial speaks of letting the outer strings down until they rest on the bridge. What does this mean? I could only get the saddles down so far and they wouldn't go any lower. I have messed around all afternoon and have got the bass kind of playable although the strings do feel a bit tight. Has anyone got any suggestions? PLEASE!

Have you lowered the whole bridge assembly completely before lowering the saddle pieces?

Your first objective when setting up the bridge is to get the curvature of the board on the individual saddle pieces. The way you do that is this: Set the 2 outer strings' saddle pieces to 2mm above the saddle sockets. Lower the whole bridge assembly until the 2 outer strings just touch the 24th fret. Then setup the inner strings' saddle pieces so that they just touch the 24th fret as well. Make sure the string spacing is even and lock the saddle pieces. Now you have copied the radius, and only thing you have to do is raise the whole bridge assembly. Bass side string should be 2.5mm and treble side 2.0mm above the 24th fret according to Warwick specs, I like my setup a little lower than that.
