Help with mystery Streamer

headstock photo?
usually serial number located on the headstock
 
1984 probably, maybe 1985 but during 1985 the headstock shape changed to the shape which is still used today.

There's no serial on the headstock either - I suppose the guy who did the paint job back then got a little carried away with the color ;)

Thanks to the others, too - I already thought ist might be from 84 or 85.

I'll be in Markneukirchen in october and will try to find out some more details.
 
need to see pics of the headstock + truss rod cover & compartment cover to tell whether 84 or 85 is more likely

I like the finish:-)
 
it is before the licensed by spector appeared, the EQ has been replaced, a shame that the headstock is broken:-/

I think no one could say that it is wasn't build in 84:-)

Luckily it's not the headstock that's brocken but just a crack in the finish - it's been there since around 1988 and it never affected the playabilty. Battle scars... ;)

I believe it's an original finish. They just painted over the serial numbers

I, too, think that this is the original finish, since I bought the bass new from a credible Dealer here in Germany back in 1986.

Do you hav any ideas about the electronics? I had some minor issue in 87 or 88 (I think it was a non-functioning peg head) and Warwick sent me a replacement free of charge. As a bonus they sent a new electronic that supposedly was the one all then-new Streamers were equipped with - also free of charge.
I had it built in by a local music store but didn't ask what the original electronic was and what the new one was. I really wasn't into all that technical chit-chat back then :lol:
 
It should be MEC. Probably you have center detent for pots now, the old ones were without :)
 
I took the Bass to rehearsal last night - first time after a long time playing other basses. I always thought that the bass wouldn't Cut through in the mix, but last night every note rang like a bell! I guess the problem I used to have with it's sound really must have been a problem of the equipment I used to have - that was an Eden rig with a WT800, with which I always had trouble dialing in my sound. Now I play a Genz Benz Streamliner 900 and with all the controls flat the sound cut through like butter :)

Now I can play the old Stuart Zender lines in our Jamiroquai tribute band with more authority than ever ;)

Playing a Bass with that kind of colour requires a settled personality though - I guess I have to go looking for a Prince tribute band where ist would fit in nicely :D
