Hey guys, this is quite off topic but I just enjoy having peoples opinion on this kinda stuff.

the two choices are...

Go on your past experiences with them or if you like the brand or look better.

I've owned both the SLK 230K & a BMW 330i & I liked both cars alot. The BMW was a better family car though.

Do I detect an "M" badge on the Beemer ??

Mileage are similar ?? One thing though; I don't like white cars, whether it's a Merc or a Beemer.............so I'd go with the Beemer.
But personally I dislike cars these days, so I would get neither..............that's just me................ :?

Forgot about putting that on there. I think I'm leaning more towards the BMW for that if I have more than 1 passenger then I can seat them.

BMW- Mileage 86,179

Merc- Mileage 61,393

haha the family car thing is not a concern for choosing a car, this is just for pleasure of driving and owning.

We already have a Kia mini van for that.

In that case I'd go the BMW.Both excellent cars but the BMW is a masterpiece.

It'll be easier to fit a bass case and a combo amp in the BMW. SLK230's don't have a whole lot of room for toys. I'd go for the M3. ~M~

BMW's look classier to me. I drive a Honda though, so I can't say from experience. All I know is I love my 43 mpg

Neither! Get a Hummer 1... :) The Hummer 2 and 3 are crap!

Ha, I do like the way the Hummer 1 looks, but I can't stand driving large vehicles. I'm just don't feel 100% comfortable driving them.

I have a thing for military stuff... guns, cammo, etc. Espically bullet/mine proof vehicles :) My dream vehicle is the hummer 1 with flat cammo paint all decked out with bullet proof windows and kevlar/titanium lining around the whole thing with a roll cage and all... something that if someone is going too slow for my likings I can just roll over them :)

Get the BMW. The Mercedes looks like the car your wife would drive to the golf course. Nothing beats a BMW, except for a Warwick.

You should drive up to Fort Lewis and check out the DRMO auctions.... you can by a military grade Hummer with about 10,000 miles for $2500-5000. You can bet they've been driven hard but they're hummer's, they're supposed to be.

Between the BMW and the Merc, which gets better gas mileage? That seems to be driving force behind car purchases today.

i bet the merc has the better gas milage...

Even tho I hate small cars (I am 6'5). I would say go with the Beemer, the SLK looks like a chick car.

One question, Where are you going to fit all of your gear? Power house 4x10 1x15 right? Better get a trailer.

Well we already have a Kia mini van that you can remove all the seats from that I was able to fit all my stuff in when I bough it, so that takes care of the gear problem.

But I do believe that I will go for the BMW from that it just has that more of a classier and more luxurious look to it, and it also has a lot more extras (wheels, stereo, Sirius satellite radio receiver) and can go faster . but its a 4 seater the merc is only a 2, can't fit more than one person in the merc so that is very inconvenient.
