Help! What do I do?!

The truss rod on my Corvette is near impossible to turn and when it does I hear abrasive wood noises coming from within. This sucks. I don't want to take it to the local shop because they charge an arm and a leg and tend to be sloppy w/ what they do. I'm wondering if sending the thing to Warwick directly is the thing to do. Any suggestions?

Mine makes a little cracking noise when I turn mine. I think thats normal. I also set something on the neck after adjusting it to aid the truss rod. If its worse than what I'm thinking it is definitely take it to a good luthier.

Hey Wacko,

It depends on where you are, because you need to pay the shipping too. Raplacing a trussrod is not that complicated for a good luthier, so you can find one in your area too.

The rod seems really hard to turn. I have to strain in order to get it to turn and when it does I rarely see much difference in the relief of the neck. The metal on the rod tool is starting to strip away. There really arent any good luthiers where I live, I just dont want to say goodbye to my Warwick for probably a month or more if I have to send it off...

In this moment your relief is ok? Like... you don't normally worry with that on warwick necks. I bought a 21 years warwick, and the owner said he never adjusted the tr
I heard others that fixed this situation by unscrewing the tr, and tightening it back. Try that too.
Also, when you adjust the tr, help it a little. Stay on a chair, with the bass between your legs. keep the body of the bass between your ankles, and the neck between your knees, and force the neck back a little if you want to tighten the It should turn easy
