Well the solid finishes do not have a flame top I suppose.
The vb has only a veneer after all

Ah yes, that's a good point.

I don't know how I feel about the whole veneer thing...

There are basswood Squier basses that have ash veneers on the front and back. They look like top shelf instruments but sound like... basswood.

the blue is packed already - some minormflaws the others don't have.

Still undecided aboutmthe other two -> maybe keep both? ))

Well acoarst it's veneer. It's the top ply of multiple plies.

Archtops are made of laminated plies aka "plywood" OK,
you could spend a fortune for a hand carved, solid wood
build, but unlest you play arco, whosomever careth ?
