Hi Guys,
Could you help me ?

I just find a second hand streamer stage I - 6 strings. The previous owner installed a different preamp. I wish i could install back the original Warwick preamp.

Could you help me to find photos of the WW preamp (pots position, wiring etc...) inside the electronic pocket.
Is there a thread on this forum where i can find something ?

Hi Emannuel,

I think you can download the wiring diagramme from the Warwick website. This should have all the info you need.
Any MEC preamps can be ordered directly from the webshop.

I already have these usefull documents.

I need pictures of the 6- strings electronic pocket. It is a small space and i have a lot a wires, pots to put inside.
Could you have these picts ?

btw I have a leftover MEC 3 Band from a Custom Shop STage 1 5 where I put a Bartolini pre-amp in

which year the bass was produced there are some differences

9/18V etc
 
I own a '08 5 string SS1. Will upload some pics this evening.
 
Not sure what you are looking for... Once pots (like in the manual), jack and battery are in place, the preamp comes on top of it.... And the compartment is closed...

What is exactly the problem so far?
 
For me the diagram is sufficient but Emannuel likes to have a photo of it all. No problem and its hardly any trouble to take a few pics.
 
Owkay here's a photo to display how everything is arranged within the compartment.
Do use the wiring diagram for connecting the pieces a photo does not help you @ that part. You can find it here: CLICK!

Once all the battery, jack, pots fixed, i wanted to see how all the wires were positioned, and how the preamp is located.
In my 89 thumb 5, everything is well positioned.


A piece of "mousse" is added between the pots and the preamp.

Here during the work.
First, taking out the ACG preamp and hand made Pickups.

actually the preamp is on top of a piece of wood in the form of an 'L' so that it is above the pots

That's exactly the final information i needed. I have this piece of wood.

Ahh yes, another mod being helpful....how hard is it to just answer the question at hand instead of telling him he basically doesn't need that info. If you look at Emanew's reply below, you actually ended up being wrong with your "information".

But, as an end user, I am sure you will find a way to vilify me for being some sort of jerk.....
 
To a qualified tech it is probably all very straightforward but if you never looked at wiring and preamps before it helps having visual confirmation and a couple of other bass players helping you along.

At first Emannuel's question seemed about getting factual information and Alexandre was (like me ) replying to this. Later on Emannuel further elaborated that he already had the info and just needed to be reassured. The photo and schlobi's info did just that.

Goes to show that there can be more to a seemingly simple question. Alexandre kinda did ask Emannuel to further elaborate but he somehow managed to come across as if he's telling the topic starter that his question is stupid.

My point is: if the person is asking a question, either answer him or don't. Don't question WHY he is asking the question. The person asking knows what information they need. How can someone else be the one to decide if the question warrants asking? They cant.
