Hellborg Preamp: some questions

Hi everyone :!:

I'm thinking about this Pre because I'd like to have a clean, definite but "strong" and very present sound.
Actualy I've a GenzBenz Streamerline 900, with a valve Pre and I had a MarkBass before it.

I like different features of both "type" of Pre (Solid State and Tube). I know that very high quality transistors Pre have the clarity and crystal sound with the punch of the valve.
Is this Pre an object which anwers at this description?

And, for the Power amp? I read another 3D but I've not understand if a Power PA Amp like this can suit well for this Pre.

I need 1000W for the good use of my cabinet.

Hi Teo, well I've had the Hellborg on loan now for a week and I can say that it is very rich in what it does to your tone.

There is a definite warmth and depth to the sound that only gear of this cost/caliber can bring. There really isn't any other bass specific preamp that can touch it. You have to go to hi-end mic preamps to compete with the Hellborg.... and actually, I'm sure that vocals would sound pretty damn good through the Hellborg as well!!

So I do believe it is THE preamp for you to get as clean and authoritative a voice as you can get.

The Behringer poweramp on the other hand , although it's cheap, matching that with the Hellborg is almost like putting a Ferrari V12 into a Fiat...... no offense to anyone but really, that's what it would be like. Or dropping a Fiat motor into a Scaglietti..... same thing

The Behringer has huge power but I've never been sold on their durability or 'clean' power. again, my opinion.

so ya. Hellborg YES!!! Behringer Nuke... affordable and LOUD..... but not totally sure.

No: there's a reason for this. I have a cabinet really fine and particular. It's a small italian brand called A.T.S.
These cabinets are very expensive and I've bought one of them with a real bargain.
So, when I talked with the maker/desinger he said to me that his cabinets give the best when you use their watt power.

I've a 1200W cabinet at 4Ohms and when I've passed from MarkBass LM 800 (750W) to GenzBenz StreamLiner 900 (900W) I've heard a BIG difference in my sound in the aspects of dinamics, punch and definition.

That's the reason, I'm not fixed without trying!

Dangerous? as in would it blow up your speaker cab?
Yeah, both the CA9 and the CA6 can do it easily
but when used judiciously, it provides tonnes of headroom

Thing is, when a cab is rated at 1200w, it does not handle the 1200w across the entire frequency spectrum. Typically the cab can only handle around 50% power in the bass region.

I recommended the CA9, because you can use just one side for one cab. Leaving you the option to add a second identical cab to the other side if needed. Besides the CA9 and the CA6 are the same size, just a hair heavier.
