hansford - for sure - also. he explained his bass to us later. i don't know how often he has do to that during one exhibition - or in his whole career. but if you just listen to it, you'll understand and i think that's enough motivation for him!

Yeah that video title is misleading, as he didn't explain the bass at all.

yeah, he is not explaining it, but he demonstrates how he uses two different versions of the same note, for two different chords. This demonstration was missing. The technical explanation of the system was posted on the forum long tme ago

OK, well here's a sort of explanation, real brief, too:

I get the same effect as all those extra frets simply
by having no frets at all. Kapische ?

I do love that his bass exists, however. I keep a
pic of the neck on file, so whenever someone gets
all OCD or anal about bridge intonation [fretted] or
muscle memory [fretless] or Petersen Tuners etc,
I just show them the Just Intonation fretboard and
ask them if "perfection" or near perfection is really
a functional paradigm.

I go with Duke: "If it sounds good, it IS good."

IIRC, Autotune is exact .... Justified tuning
is Justified .... different from exact, more
like "Just Right" ! !

Oh, I'm sure you could come up with a just tuning autotune! That might actually require more skill than singing without it...
