They thought that i couldn't tell the difference between a BO and a NT
I will never return to guitarcenter EVER AGAIN
 
Also, what would be the sound difference between modern thumbs and this one

that bass costs 1200 dollars
 
I'm obviously no expert... But the Barts are going
to be a BIG difference from the MEC's... Just check
out the MEC/Bart A/B in the Clips section.
 
yah i've listened to those, but for some reason i couldn't tell the difference between the two, or a lot of difference.
 
Barts have slightly less treble and have a deeper tone. Kinda more vintage, but they have a very vocal quality imo, and very nice harmonics.

Depends on the tone, at a guess your going for ryan martinie kinda deal, which case i have a hunch that Barts might not give you the tone you want, as MEC's have a nice flat response giving you the thumbs tone in all its glory!
