WOW ... good for you, looks like someone is serious about getting a standup. I loved their term "pre-loved" and from the looks of the basses I saw on their website, pre-loved is the perfect term for them... they were all beautiful. Hope you find something to your liking, although that doesn't look like it will be hard to do.

Yes - they hve some gorgeous basses there! I'm pretty serious about it.

I'm budgeting on somewhere between $5000-$8000 for a double bass. For that sort of money I should get a nice instrument that will stay with me for some time. If I decide to upgrade to something really serious one day it should retain some pretty decent value to allow me to trade up. I don't want to skimp and get something that I won't enjoy and won't have very much resale value.
I probably won't buy a bass on my first visit, but I'll go and have a look next week to seek some inspiration and go from there. I figure I'll prbaly pick one up in around three weeks or so if I can find something nice within my budget.
