new member doug k here,
i just wanted to say hello.
i've been playing bass for 28 years, and touring internationally as
a musician and foh engineer for 20.
i owned my first warwick in 1990, a thumb 6 nt with bartolini electroncs.
what was so special to me about this bass was it's ability to hold sub tunings...
i used ken smith strings, gages 145, 120, 100, 80, 60, 40 and tuned the bass
f#, b, e, a, d, g (sub-contrabass guitar, i suppose).

as musicians know, the endeavour can be enriching more in the experience sense than financially, so i was forced to sell not once, but twice...
was able to get it back the first time. i have since owned a beautiful '95 fretless thumb4 nt, but the sound on the recordings haunts me to this day and i'm finally in the position to once again pick up where i left off...
so i am searching for an early thumb 6 bubinga/wenge with bartolinis and the original style nut.
looking forward to taking part in the forums, if anyone can point me in the direction of what i'm looking for, i'd be eternally in your debt.

just as a footnote, i love smith strings but the real reason at the time (1990-91) is that they were the heaviest stock gages i could find!

Welcome to the forum Doug. I love your tracks, and to be honest I guess it is the best F# sound I've ever heard so far.

I know a bass like you are looking for here, and I think he wanted to switch to 6 strings. I'll ask him.

thanks to this forum, i have a 1995 thumb 6 en route to me (knock on my wooden head). watching the tracking like a hawk.
same specs as the '90 i lost... twice.
will need to get bartolini pups (has basslines).
