Just kinda stumbled on you here. By the time I finished the registration form, I couldn't even recall how I wound up here :-)

I like bass, and basses. My fave makers are EBMM and Warwick, altho some of my particular fave basses are not from either line, like I'm not into Takamine in general, but one particualr Tak is very special to me. Anyway, I play mainly FL, and the Warwick neck woods and the ebony FBs really combine for a great FL voice.

Once upon a time I had a basic Streamer 5, with the pine body and gotoh bridge and dual humbuggers. I liked the sound but not the close 5-string spacing. Now I'm pretty much sticking to 4-strings from Warwick, but If I ever saw a bargain on a Warwick 5-wide, FL .... well, thaz not a very likely event anywayz.

I got back into Warwick when I stumbled onto a hotrodded Bubinga Vette 4FL. Altho that one is still hanging around, lately I prefer my new swamp ash Double Bucker 4's, FL and fretted. The variety of voices is great and the controls are about the max I can handle before confusion sets in .... just right for me.

GHS Precision Flats on the FL's, and D'A nickel 1/2rounds on the fretted. I tune DGCF and these strings handle it well enuf on a 34" bass

Sort of yes. The meaning is the same. I saw many specific parallels between the computer and the Golem, so I named any terminal I was using "Golem". I did so back before the WWW was around, so we were all very aware of the machines between us all as we communicated.

IOW, it was plain, back in the day, that I was communicating thru 'Golem', I was the person operating 'Golem'. Back then, a screen name was exactly that, a *screen* name. As the internet user community grew, especially with the coming of the WWW, we all began to feel more directly connected, less awareness of the machines in use between us all, and screen names stuck to us as personal names.

There are also some parallels between myself and the Golem, so the name just made it thru the transition. It used to apply to my machine, now it includes myself. It's on my bank checks and Golem even has a signature card on file at the bank.
