As far as I'm concerned, I don't like the old Nightwish... I'm not into "opera" singers, and Tarja acted like she was a diva... In every aspects. No wonder why they fired her.

I much prefer the present Nightwish, I really like Anette's voice, I feel like their music took a "groovy" path... And I like this.

To be short, me likes the new Nightwish, me dont like the old Nightwish.


(BTW, I saw them live in 2008 (with Anette) at Rock am Ring, a German festival, and they had TWO electrical breakdowns... Man, they were PISSED.)

Tarja looked better in End of An Era concert! Tho I'm not really into moms aged ladys.

Mm that might be one reason! :D But too bad Anette really can't sing old songs because she isn't opera style. And hyvää joulua kaikille!

What do you mean by "exotic"?

To me, Finland is a very advanced country, social-wise and culture-wise. It's kind of different from the other European countries. I know Helsinki a bit, I spent 10 days there in February 2006 (man, that was COLD). I loved it. Everything seems "better" in Finland than here...

Oh yes, this is the sound I love!! Low down and dirty heheeh....

Sad thing is Anette's becoming the diva I've heard, she can be like Tarja I guess. I've heard so much through fans, who knows?
Tarja's big mistake is her husband being her manager...I suspect that's when things went downhill. It's sad, because she was a friend of Tuomas's before the band...it must have been hard for him to sack her.

I'm not big on operatic voice...meh...

Speaking of Tuomas, I think he is awesome...

He's a big Johnny Depp fan!! lol....

Welcome to the forum! I am a very big fan of Nightwish (sorry to see Tarja go) and many other Finnish metal bands. Stratovarius, Sonata Arctica, Children of Bodom, Norther, Ensiferum, Wintersun, the list goes on.
 
Wintersun <3 :D I really don't like finnish music myself but old Nightwish and Wintersun are great hope they will release "Time" soon ^^
 
Yeah, so far they only released one album. Actually, Jari's move to leave Ensiferum and focus on Wintersun was a wise idea and beneficial to both bands.
