Hello all, proud owner of a 2nd hand Cobra in excellent condition. I am curious if anyone can look at the serial number and tell me what version/year it is? Thanks

Thanks, I found another number, which may be the right one, it is F04165. I believe I have a V5 made in 2007.

I have been searching for Framus Cobra head for a while.

The only head I got was from UK rip-off triplex. It was in bad cosmetic condition.
So I am looking for new Cobra head.

Could anyone tell me:
1. Framus cobra heads are had built - is it true?

2. Framus started to produce Cobra heads in CHINA since 2009?
just misic is official Framus distributor and they told me this thing - is it true?

3. The quality difference between new Chinese models and old german ones is HUGE???

4. Can anybody tell me where I can buy NEW COBRA HEAD (sealed in box) in GERMANY?
Just Music have strongly USED Cobra head. And prices which offer warwick on-line shop is sky-high.

Framus wont compromise on quality. I can't see them moving their production to China unless they new the could guarantee to keep the quality the same. A lot of people will just assume that German is better than Chinese (including shops) and just say it is the case without actually knowing.

I don't know any details though so you'll have to wait for someone else's answer.



And your typo.....were you asking if the Cobra heads are HAND made?
 
Yes, I mean had made. thanks for the reply! Framus did confirm me in e-mail that they still build their amps by hand in Germany.
I just saw it so many times on different forums especially US forums, even Framus distributor did tell me that Framus moved their production to China in 2009. Why people are telling these lies about China production???
By the way do anybody know if the sound of old models is better or not from the recent Framus COBRAs?

Hi Alex, there is no new vs old Cobra, it is the same amp, mate, and it was always awesome!!!
