Got my new car today. SAAB 9-3 Biopower (ethanol fuel). Finally I'm able to transport my gear again. Love that "new car smell".

I know :cry: . ... and the MX-5/Miata left me in February. It had to go cuz someone here called it a ladies car (ThirdThumb I think). It was never the same after that. :cry: :D

Ethanol (or E85 as it's called) is widely spread in Sweden. You probably find it on 3/4 of the petrol stations at the moment and if you don't find it you can fill it with normal petrol. At the moment every 4th new car sold in Sweden is an ethanol car.

The fuel consumption is about 30% higher with ethanol but the price is 35% cheaper. Driving with ethanol gives the motor about 25 HP more compared to petrol. The CO2 polution contribution is basically ZERO.

So while gaining power I put on my Greenpeace hat.

Hehe... true.

It actually smells vodka when filling the car. However, the ethanol contains 15% normal petrol to improve the lubrication and to help cold starts. I also contains additives, which will result in instant vomiting in case it's swallowed.

I know ethanol fuel is common in Brasil cuz of their huge sugar cane resources.

Any other countries where it's common?

(just in case people think I'm against the Miata)

I've driven a MX 5 myself a long time ago: it's a true roadster. Driving it is believing that it IS a great car. 8)

But i also can't help thinking about the Aphex Twins' Window Licker video. Haha, that one is hilarious. :lol:

It's a short book. Maybe 8 grooves with etudes and bassless tracks. Most of it sounds like it came from the "Latin Bass Book" played slap style instead of finger style and man does his '90 SS1 with Barts sound sick! I took 2 grooves from it and expand them through improv. Anything with Oscar Stagnaro in it gets my attention. He's my favorite Latin bassist. Thanks again Pat.
