"You" did pretty well, actually. Most people (who aren't German) that I ask say German is a pain in the nuts.

I took two years waaaayyyy back in high school and never found it to be very difficult. Easier than learning English from scratch, I'd say. Well, that and my dad taught German at uni for almost 40 years, so I heard it around the house a bit... ~M~

Well, if you're coming to the Warwick "Open-House" Event in 2007 I'm sure it would be useful to know some German. This may very well be the only reason why learning German would pay off.

Oh I'm definitely planning on being there! Whether my job agrees with these plans is quite another matter altogether. Maybe if I go ahead and get the tickets and tell them nine months in advance, I'll be in a better position to say "I told you that MONTHS ago!!!" Also, I've found that in any foreign country , the four words you need to know are: men, women, push, and pull. This avoids nearly all of the awkward moments at doors that's a dead giveaway you're a tourist ... ~M~
