Funk for the Funky

Very nice indeed. I hope your not offended by this, I mean it as a compliment, but it sort of reminds me of Steely Dan. or maybe a cross between Steely Dan and Weather Report. I like it very much. In addition to a very nice bass part, I really enjoyed the drummer as well. The horns sound really nice and wasn't to brash and over powering, very well mixed with great harmonies. And there was some really fine guitar work on the track. I seriously liked the whole track and would love to hear some more.

I can hear some Stanley Clarke feel in there....very tasty.
 
Thanks for all the kind words guys. I think we're supposed to be recording pretty soon again so I'll try to get more tracks up when I've got 'em.


flipper_gv, the bass on this recording is actually a non-warwick; my 91 Modulus Quantum. Actually, this my first non-warwick recording experience. I hope this is still cool to post here.

Gracias man! That's exactly what we were shooting for...the classic herbie/paul jackson kind of funk vibe. Glad to know it registered with someone!
