Fretless rockbasses!

They come with Warwick Red Label Stainless Roundwounds Emil 
If you want to put flats on them, I really love TI Jazz flats - they sound really nice.
BUT... if you're only putting flats on them because you're worried about fingerboard wear, don't. The fingerboard is ebony, and is very hard. Rounds will put superficial scratches on it very quickly, but they are only minor surface scratches. It will take a LONG time before the scratches are anything to worry about - I'm talking years here... and even then you can just have the fingerboard leveled and start over again. You can have the fingerboard leveled a number of times, and even then you can have a new fingerboard put on it eventually. All of this is very easy for a luthier. We're talking many years here. I know a friend who plays a fretless bass with an ebony board and stainless round wound strings. He plays a lot and gigs regularly with it. He said it's been 6 years since he last had the board leveled, and about ten years since he started playing that bass with rounds. It's still got at least another ten years left in the fingerboard.

So - if you want flats for the tone, go for it - they do sound nice, but if you prefer the tone of rounds and are considering flats only because of the fingerboard wear, don't worry about it - play your bass with the strings you like and enjoy.

China is nice. Pretty cold at the moment - I'm LOVING my Rockbass here with my Tascam GB-10 trainer with headphones. I'm surprised at how nice it sounds, and I don't annoy my neighbors in the apartment building.
