Hi all
My first post.
I've attached a pic of my 50 year Framus, not quite sure the exact type and I've been unable to find one like it. It was made in Oct 1963 but I am unable to read the model number - its simply faded away!
My Grandma bought me this so I've had it from new, the cost £73 - there was almost $4 to the £. It was gigged through out the sixties and had a hard life. Unfortunately later on the neck was broken andit lay idle for a few years.
I've since repaired it and put it back together and it has a sound like no other.
The tremolo and scratch plate are missing, so to are bits of the bridge.
Presently I have a Gibson type bridge on, this really makes the guitar more playable and it stays in tune. Something it never did after I first repaired it . I have 4 other Guitars but this is my favourite - guess it reminds me of my Youth!
Would be grateful if someone could ID this guitar for me and maybe post a pic of the original bridge. I need to find a scratchplate too!

This Thinline guitar is the framus Fret Jet in red finish, model 5/116-54 building in october 1963 (sticker). Scratchplates and bridges
haven´t we regrettably in our offering by the vintage parts. Intersting is that this guitar haven´t the electronic section under the
plate how by our Fret Jet guitars.
The restoration is very good work. The poti knobs and the bridge aren´t original parts, the tuning machines, pickups and switches are
from the Framus brand. The poti knobs are by original Fret Jets in row, the pickups angular. You can see it by the guitars on our website.



So it any points unclaer by this Fret Jet guitar.

Beautiful instrument, the piece of pickguard in the upper horn looks funny, though. ;)

Thanks for the replies.
Yes, this is strange, all the fretjets I see have pots in a line and sloping pickups. Every thing on the guitar is as it was when bought new, with the exception of the bridge and of course the missing tremolo and scratchplate. I can buy the missing pot and arm from the warwick website but I think I'll have to forget about the plate.
Cant believe Framus only made one like mine, there must be others somewhere???
