Hi
The extra knobs are just more eq knobs - think of the 140 hz as low mid and the 1.6kz as a high mid. Would help if you had a manual that had the frequencies of low mid and high, but you can experment by ear. Try boosting each one separately and see what they do. I quite like to boost the low mid rather than the bass to accentuate the sound of the Thumb.

Also think about cutting frequencies rather than just boosting. When I tinker with these things at home, I usually get a killer tone, then when you start playing with a band, it sounds total s***! But that's all part of our education!

The shape knob may be some sort of contour... boosting lows and highs and cutting mids.

Don't get confused about the size of the buttons. It's basically a 5-band eq. (Low=50Hz, 140Hz, Mid=500Hz, 1,6kHz, Treble=7,5kHz)
The shape function is simply an additional preset that you can use to switch between two sounds (shape-out=Sound 1, Shape-in= Sound2 = Sound1 + a boots where central freq. can be freely selected between 120Hz and 1,2kHz)
Hope it helps...
