hi guys
friend gave me this bass and i would like to restore it to working condition. its really in bad shape, as you can see from the pictures. the biggest issue is, I don't have the neck plate and the screws. can I get some alternative neck plate and screws that would fit? I doubt I could find the original ones for sale.
it looks like someone wrongly drilled the neck screw holes, filled them, and redrilled them. I can tell if that will be a problem or not.
as I'm not a bass player, which strings should I put on it? I've heard you need different strings for shortscale basses, but I don't quite know anything about that
