One Thing I have learnt that means that a) technical failures are less of a fear and B) makes getting on and off stage quick for multi band gigs: My Bass BOX! well its actually a sewing box my missus found in a craft store.
Basically its a three tier toolbox that I have set up for stage bits and pieces.
top ties has all the small bits I need on stage or need to grab quickly-picks, wirelss, mic, pick holder, ear plugs, cleaning cloth, spare batteries 9V for basses, AA for wireless, small screw driver, clip on tuner etc. this is the top of the box and is left behind my amp so I can get to it
then there is a flat tier which has my power cable for my pedal board (amp cables are kept in the road case), signal for my board to amp and a spare cable if my wireless goes down. everything in this tier comes out before the gig
Finally there is a big storage are which is my "Oh ♣♣♣♣" layer-tools, spare strings, spare machine head, wireless cable, spare power supplies- I run a stupid combo of power types on my pedal board so there are 3-DC, AC and pos tip for my wireless. then a power board, extension cord, gaffer tape. If all goes to plan I don't even look in here. Also where I dump my wallet, phone keys etc when im on stage
By having everything laid out like this I only have ONE place to look for bits, nothing but straps and basses in my bass cases, nothing but my board in my pedal board case. no "where in one of four possible cases is that lead" situations. Also I cant forget bits because i put them in one gig bag then took another bass, or put that bass in hard case.
