Now I have drool all over my keyboard!

You must give us your impression of the Spector. I really like the off-set strap pin. I do not understand the obsession companies have with centering the lower pin. I have a couple with off-set pins and they simply hang and balance better. Plus, the strap tends to rub against the finish much less.

Hi, spector?

Lighter than i expexted.
Great ROCK sound. And great Low B.
The Fortress Ltd are more versatile.
Harder to play than the other my Bass. In the 35"scale neck the strings have more tension and the freets are bigger.

The off-set Pins ...
Maybe some productor use the Pin in centre position to protect the body when leaning to the ground
Spector maybe use an off-set position to make the Bass "shorter". Good feeling for me.

The solution to the offset pin is to put two pins in! it makes it super easy to lean up on things and protects the body. I friend of mine has a custom bass with two pins for that reason, the second one is just to have a "stand" built into the bass.
Man I love the look of the Spectors, the 35", but that neck bit sticking into the body looks wack to me. That and the tone pump have always kept me away form them.
