First Warwick Bass (Warwick Corvette Taranis) Maintenance help

Hey guys,

I've owned a Warwick RockBass Corvette 4er for around 3 years now and I managed to find a bargain on a Warwick Corvette Taranis 5er. I'm really excited for this as it's my first German Warwick bass and it's a decent step up from a RB. Also the fact that its a 5er is awesome as I can play more songs I've been wanting to play for a while

Now, what can I expect in terms of maintenance? I wanna take good care of this one. It's a black oil finish so no wax. Do I need to do anything to the body at all? or just leave it? What about the neck? It's ovangkol with a wenge fingerboard. How can I look after these? lemon oil on fingerboard? what about the ovangkol neck?

Also, what can I expect in terms of the pickups? will the pole pieces rust? because I've had that problem before with my old Yamaha RBX 170. Dont wanna ruin my new baby!!

Havn't got it yet but I'll be picking it up in a few days

Congrats on the new purchase - I'm sure you'll love it!

To take care of it:
Yep, for the body you don't need to do anything. Just wipe it down after you play and it should be fine.
For the fingerboard you can apply a bit of lemon oil now and again, like any other fingerboard.
For the neck you don't need to do anything. You can wax it if you like - some people do, some prefer the wood bare.
The pickups should be ok, but maybe one of the Australian members can give more local info - I don't know what the humidity is like round your area. The pole pieces are not exposed, so they are more protected than on some basses.

The pickups in my LTD 07 Thumb BO haven't rusted at all - i'm sure you'll be fine.

Wipe it down after you play, wax the neck every month or 2, and she'll be great!

I would wax the neck too, or oil it... Don't let it dry.
