Fanned frets & Buzz Feiten

I tried a bass with fanned frets recently,please feel free to post your opinions,comments etc.Personally it was weird to play but it sounded incredible.
Also the Buzz Feiten tuning system,anyone tried it?got it?know how the hell it works.I've heard some positive feedback on this remarkable tuning system but I have no idea how it works,I know you have to pay & go do a course on fitting them,but your opinions would be good.
C'mon guys & gals,I want some opinions .

I may be wrong, but I believe the main physical mod in the BF system is a new nut, which shortens the length between the nut and the first fret - but as for the rest of the details - how it affects the intonation - I don't know.

I also believe that the advantage may be in playing chords - as you can hear the chords singing out better when the individual notes are better intonated. When playing individual notes the advantages may not be as clear - unless you've got perfect pitch.

I'm sure there's lots of guys out there with the proper answer though!

I played a Washburn WB 40 bass today, and I play it quite a bit, at my local music store, and it has the BF tuning system. THe nut is a little farther away from the fretboard, a .5 mm gap maybe. Brass nut, and it's in tune WAY better than my Warwick :lol: . I'd love to have it on my Warwick. The CHords are clearer, and when you Drop D the regular way, matching it to your High D string, it's super easy, and VERY easy to tell when it's right, the notes just seem to pop in tune better, like colours... or maybe that's just me.

it seems to be the consensus that intruments can benefit from the BF tuning system.I'll e-mail Ed Roman & ask him whats the guts of it on a warwick bass as he's a liscensed installer.stay tuned groovers.
