HI,

I need a a bass for an accoustic project.

I own a Fender Victor Baley which is very comfortable and sounds great un-plugged.
I do not like the amplified sound very much however.

Moreover I want a 5er - so I am thinking of getting an Alien 5er

As they where introduced only this year I cannot find statements on the B-String etc.

Any experience with the instrument here?

I'd appreciate any comment

I've never played one plucked in - but I can tell you what I read in different other forums and reviews.
In general the Alien has a laminated top - this gives it some other resonance propertys and kind a more scooped sound. Especially in Germany we have some very nice bass builders with great a-basses with real wood tops (just for the case you don't like the laminated top sound).

The B-string is good. It's like with every other A-Bass - unplugged not really usable in band situations, and the low b naturally even less - but the Alien has a really good plugged sound, the fishman pickups are some of the best used in acoustic basses. Seems very easy to get rid of feedbacks and great versatility.
So I hope some of us will be able to check those statements soon, by trying one :)
