experience w/ sea freight from EU to US?

it turns out quite expensive and complex to ship a bass from Europe to the USA.
sea freight is way cheaper, however, size of the package is often limited to 100cm.
does somebody has experience w/ a courier for sea freight up to 130cm length?
 
shipped from Germnay with DHL and UPS

UPS is fast, safe and completely trackable but very expensive

DHL does the job:-) but it might take a month:-)
 
you should not care about sea freight or not but which dimensions they carry:-)

If you want to ship a wick you might fit it in a 120cm box (gig bag no case of course)
so you do not even have oversize.
